My skills & services
Let’s keep things simple
It’s hard to beat the feeling of something that “just works” and I believe that working with a freelancer should feel no different. I provide fresh, simple and functional solutions so that growing businesses can harness the power of great design, without the headaches.
I’m a true believer in the power of simplicity, and my approach reflects that. Every stage of my process is streamlined for effectiveness, from finding out if I’m a good fit for your project, to the final stages of delivery.
A designer that “gets it”
I know how long-winded it can be getting the right design work, on time, on budget, and hassle free. It’s through my years of industry and freelance experience that I’ve been able to pinpoint and eliminate the complexities that often hinder the client-designer relationship.
So whether its just a logo, a website or a full design package you require, I can help. And I do all of this in a fresh and streamlined way that helps us reach your end goal quickly and headache free.
I work with all kinds of clients, from fresh and exciting start-ups to well-established agencies, however – no matter the client and scope of the deliverables, my process follows these same four stages:
Are you ready to start your project?
The benefits of
working with me
Studio quality design doesn’t always require a studio. As a freelancer I’m able to dedicate myself to a project and build a relationship with my client that wouldn’t be possible with a studio. You’ll be communicating directly with the designer who’s crafting your work. This adds a real value to my freelance process that can’t be found elsewhere.
who’s Jake Johnson?
I’m a passionate and detail-driven designer with over 5 years of industry experience, including time at a leading agency. My grounding is in logos, brands and identity systems along with print and web design. I still get excited about setting type and composing grid systems, however digital design and making things look beautiful on screen is also a huge part of what I love to do.
My other interests include cycling, architecture and spinning records.
